In support of Saving Grace, a local non-profit described below, I created this piece called "Sacred Spaces," (24 x 24 inches) to be raffled at this year's Bend Winterfest, February, 15. Saving Grace (formerly COBRA) provides comprehensive family violence and sexual assault programs and promotes the value of life without violence. With offices in Bend, Redmond, Madras, Prineville, and Sisters, Saving Grace provides services to more than 5,000 people each year. Among other programs, Saving Grace provides a 24-bed emergency shelter, 24-hour hotline, support groups, individual therapy, and a children’s program.
This year, thanks to a sponsorship by SOUTHWICK Specialty Advertising, Saving Grace will participate with a booth at Bend Winterfest.
"Sacred Spaces" was done using my Telamadera Fusion technique of applying paint and fabric to a wood surface and then coating it with ten coats of a polymer that has a UV protectant and is made specifically for fine art. The piece measures 24 x 24 inches.

The program on Art Beat tonight was fabulous, and your work is captivating. I love color, fabric, texture, etc. and am newly inspired by you to do something w/ all the fabrics and fibers tucked away in my closet. I love your enthusiasm for your work and your delight in sharing your techniques. Plus of course, the way your colors and shapes just flow across the wood - wonderful!

Saw the program on Art Beat today. Thanks for sharing your art with us. I am not an artist or quilter but took up quilting a cple years back...very intimidated by those who had always sewn, or created stunning 1,000 piece items. It is great to see television programming that celebrates art and not just the well known and celebrated persons. Wonderful technique and if you ever happen to teach this way, Medford Oregon, I hope to hear about it so I can sign up. Thanks for sharing your art and story.
